Announcing DogDay 2026
We're excited to announce DogDay on Saturday October 24th, where we'll celebrate the second birthday of dogAdvisor Max, announce the latest with dogAdvisor, and bring forward the next generation of Max. If you haven't already, please feel welcome to register to celebrate with dogAdvisor and Corgi in London to join us in-person for the day! Celebrate 2 years with dogAdvisor x Corgi
We can share today that the next generation of dogAdvisor Max will be launched on DogDay! It marks the largest leap in capabilities we've ever taken, has been more than eleven months in the making, and is designed from the ground up to be the world's best companion for dog owners. Because of the scale of the upgrades we're announcing we've also deeply considered how we name dogAdvisor Max. From now on, we'll no longer refer to Max in generations, instead adopting Series, to bring more continuity and fluidity to dogAdvisor's naming practices. This means the next flagship dogAdvisor Max model will be Series 5, climbing to Series 5.1 onwards. Max Series 5 is showing promise as the safest, smartest, and most aligned model we have ever released with enormous improvements in safety and helpfulness, with reduced safeguards for irrelevant content (a frequent complaint with Generation 4), and is built entirely around our latest breakthroughs in safety and alignment with Principle Alignment, Guided Retriever Intelligence, Foundation Safety Framework, and more.
This DogDay, we will announce Max Series 5 in Pre-Registration, meaning the model is still in BETA and in its final stages of development. We recognise this approach may mean your Max experience may differ very slightly from day-to-day with either reduced or weaker safeguards or more precise or inquisitive tone and responses. When you set up Series 5, we'll let you know what you need to remember when interacting with Max, and you'll always have the option to return to Generation 4. For emergencies and serious health questions, we'll automatically pass your question on to Generation 4 instead of Series 5 Pre-Registration. Pre-Registration opens October 24th and we expect to close it closer to the end of November as we announce Series 5. Importantly, Preregistration models are audited heavily for their safety and reliability, and we will never release a model with significant risk, as we set out in our Responsible Deployment Policy. When Pre-Registration closes, you'll have access to the exact same Max experience and account information, but with our completed Max model under the hood. During this period, we'll introduce staggered releases of dogAdvisor's latest safety and AI research, launching our final paper (Max's Model Card for Series 5) on the day Series 5 leaves Pre-Registration.

Alongside these huge changes to Max, we also looked inwards to make significant updates to dogAdvisor. First, you'll see a dramatically more improved experience with dogAdvisor's site, with dramatically smoother navigation, simpler overviews of important content, and a more delightful design you'll love. Next, as part of our transition we'll share new legal agreements that require your agreement, particularly when using dogAdvisor Max. These updates reflect the new features and capabilities of Series 5, and better reflect dogAdvisor's position on safety and accountability. It also introduces harsher penalties and detection for illegal activity, distillation and IP violations, and illegal use of dogAdvisor's services, as set out in our Rules of Government Engagement. Finally, as dogAdvisor affirms our transition to a US organisation (dogAdvisor Co) you may notice some minor updates to our legal and compliance pages.
On the day, October 24th
All of our announcements arrive concurrently at 12:00 London time! You'll see them directly inside of dogAdvisor's website and Max. For owners using Max from October 22nd-October 24th you may notice limited service disruption as we complete the final stages of preparation for Max Series 5 Pre-Registration. We'll notify you ahead of time when to expect disruption. Of course if you're joining us in person you'll get a bit of a head-start on our announcements (an hour earlier) and some amazing swag, cake, and corgis (yes we've got actual dogs there!).
