dogAdvisor Co is now registered in the United States

We've made the decision to register dogAdvisor outside of the United Kingdom. This change likely affects users on our platform as we update our legal documentation.

Founder and Chief Executive Officer

Good Morning,

We are making some important changes to dogAdvisor's company registration.

Starting today, dogAdvisor will jointly register in the United Kingdom under our current legal name but will further form a US entity (dogAdvisor Co) to support our operations.

This update affects any legal agreements you may have with dogAdvisor, including your Terms of Service, Service Safety Harbour Agreements, Platform Policies, and further legal documentation. You don't have to do anything but you may be asked to reaffirm your agreement to our updated legal agreements. You must affirm your agreement to continue using our services. Today, we'll set out what exactly this change means, who it affects, and why we've made the decision to move ahead with registration outside of the UK. For now, our primary tax jurisdiction will remain the united Kingdom and we will alert HMRC in due course of any relevant updates to our tax status. As a gentle reminder, you can view all of this information and the latest updates on our corporate registrations at https://dogadvisor.dog/corporation.

Why are we registering in the United States?

As dogAdvisor continues to grow, we increasingly find ourselves operating across borders, with our highest traffic area being the United States. We therefore believe it sensible to begin preparing for potential future transition plans that allow us to establish appropriate corporate registration, practices, and legal infrastructure. Whilst we are not yet announcing dogAdvisor's transition outside the UK, we want to be sure that our future operations can develop strongly in that direction. We further recognise that registration in the United States offers more flexibility when working with US-based organisations allowing us to better develop ongoing partnerships and agreements.

Importantly, this may impact agreements you've made with dogAdvisor, particularly when using our services. Whilst the entity you make agreements with depends on your jurisdiction, some owners may be notified they'll have to reaffirm agreement with dogAdvisor Co depending on their location. You may also enter different agreements depending on requirements in jurisdictions that affect you, and we'll make this clear on all of our Legal pages.

As part of this transition, we further expect certain activities and technology associated with dogAdvisor will be structured between our UK and US entities as appropriate, as part of our efforts to establish a clear corporate structure. Importantly, certain technology, innovations, activities, and agreements may sit with different entities (like dogAdvisor Co) depending on their purpose, jurisdiction, and the stage of our transition. We'll document any such changes (if and when appropriate) on our new Corporation page. As a result, the financial position reported publicly by our UK company in future periods may differ from previous years. This shouldn't be interpreted as dogAdvisor ceasing UK operations, but will reflect changes in our corporate and governance structure. Where legally compelled to do so, we'll continue to file the appropriate statutory accounts with appropriate authorities in accordance with applicable accounting and legal requirements.

What does this mean for me?

For most dogAdvisor users you'll see very little change immediately, and you can continue accessing dogAdvisor and Max in the same ways as before. However, depending on where you are located, with dogAdvisor services you use, and the particular agreement you have with us, the legal entity you contract with may change. Some users may recieve updated Terms of Service, Policies, Agreements, or other Legal Documentation, whilst others might not. We will always name and identify the relevant dogAdvisor branch and relevant jurisdictions clearly in applicable agreements.

If you currently use dogAdvisor's services you may see the following alert appear during your use, which notifies you that your use of our service may be impacted by this transition. You'll have until September 13th to submit your agreement to the new terms, or cease your use of our services, before you're bound under these new terms. Our goal throughout this transition is to be as clear and straightforward as we can be, and we'll continue to share more news as we progress. For clarity the following agreements are likely to be impacted: Terms of Service, Usage Policies / Terms of Use, Safety Harbour Statements, Platform Acceptable Use Policies, Privacy Policies, and Warranty and Disclaimer Statements. You can review all these legal documents at https://dogadvisor.dog/legal.

Thank you very much for your support and understanding, and we look forward to sharing much more about these updates in due course.
